Healthcare Numbers
A handy free service for validating and generating NHS Scotland CHI (Community Health Index) numbers for testing.
The CHI Number is a unique 10-digit identifier assigned to every citizen registered with the NHS (National Health Service), serving as a unique reference for healthcare records.
Unlike NHS Numbers in England, the CHI number has inherent meaning. The first 6 digits are the date of birth (DDMMYY) and the 9th number represents gender, even for male, odd for female. The generator produces a random date of birth and defaults to male.
The validator will accept CHI numbers with or without spaces but not with hyphens.
This service is provided for testing purposes only. It is not affiliated with any of the companies or brands for which it produces data. Provided "as is", without warranty, and used at your own risk.
